Are you considering organizing a conference? or starting a new conference?
Think about requesting sponsorship from SIGART!
The ACM
organizer conference manual provides all the information you need to start
a conference and to request in-cooperation or sponsorship from SIGART.
The manual includes a description of the criteria and rules to follow,
plus the various forms required.
In brief, a in-cooperation conference is a conference sponsored
by another organization. This arrangement implies no financial involvement
from SIGART, and it is straightforward to obtain, provided that
- The conference has an open call for participation and a clearly
documented evaluation and review process.
- The conference has a clearly identified organization structure,
with conference/program chair, program committee, etc.
- The conference is not sponsored by a for-profit organization;
some forms of corporate funding are allowed.
- ACM requires that registration fees and proceedings costs are the
same for ACM members as for other sponsoring organizations, and
there is no differentiation in registration fees between academic
and corporate participants.
In-cooperation provides many benefits:
- The ACM SIGART logo and name can be used on any publicity about the
conference.
- The conference will be listed in the ACM calendar.
- The announcement of the conference will be posted on the SIGART Wiki.
For information on how to obtain the in-cooperation status read the
SIG
Conference Manual - In-Cooperation Conference Guidelines
and submit to ACM the InCooperation Technical Meeting Request Forms
[InCoop TMRF] using the
on-line application.
A sponsored or co-sponsored conference is a conference for
which SIGART assumes financial and technical responsibility. Proceedings have
to be copyrighted by ACM and be in the Digital Library, unless specific
agreements are in place with the co-sponsors.
To request sponsorship from SIGART contact the SIGART Chair to discuss the
conference. Please provide the following information:
- Name, time and place of the conference.
- Focus of the conference.
- Intended audience and size.
- Organization of the conference.
- Description of any prior instantiations of the conference.
Include as much information as you have on date, organizers,
paper submission/acceptance counts, attendance, site, budget,
and registration fees.
- List any financial resource, including other sponsorships and grants.
